Do I need to provide the CRA with entry & exit dates ( to & from Canada) when filling someone as a deemed resident? I have a client who I filled them as a deemed resident & provided a note with their entry & departure dates from Canada to their come country. Should I have done that or is it not necessary?
If a taxpayer is deemed resident, they can’t have either an entry or exit date. Those apply only to immigrant and emigrant tax returns respectively.
