How to claim SR&ED

I have a client who I need to claim a SR&ED for a previous tax year.

On this CRA link, it says use the software to file.

I have the T661 and T2038 on paper. I found T2038 in T1 module and entered the information but I can not find T661 in Taxcycle T1. I also looked at Forms module.

There is a T661 in T2 module but that does not help me…

Even if I have to T661 through submit documents, where does it go into T1 to reduce the taxable income? As far as I know you can reduce the taxable income and also claim ITCs. I did not see a specific spot on T2125 for it?

ChatGPT says I can claim the amount from T661 as a “Other expenses”. So you are double claiming the expense? Once at face value and second time using the number you calculated at T661?

Apologies, my first time dealing with this! Any input is appreciated. Claim amount is so small that it is not worth going to a consultant.

SR&ED is a highly complex tax area. There are specialists out there who handle only SR&ED claims and ensure they get done correctly. I wouldn’t try to do it on my own. The SR&ED specialists will give you full instructions and text to copy/paste into the tax return. Be prepared to pay $5,000+

I just need to know where to copy / paste in a T1. T661 and T2038 is done. This is a very simple claim. If you have done it, please let me know where it goes on T1.

Never done this in a T1, but you need to fill out form T2038 on the T1 [this is close to S31 on a corporation I believe]
If you have the T1 module from TaxCycle, hit F4 and search for T2038.
