I have a client who bought a house with her brother-in-law and 2 other friends in 2023. All of them never purchased a home before and this is their first home ever in Canada. Can they split the homebuyer credit and claim $2500 each? All 4 of them are on the legal title of the house.
Are they all LIVING in the house (or planning to move in within a year)?

Yes, they all are living in the same home.
Then yes - the $10,000 can be split up however they want, as long as the total isn’t over $10,000
