I have a question. When someone brings me a DTC from saying they have been approved for the credit and it says 2016 to 2021. When does it expire? Is it at the end of the 2021 year or the end of 2020?

A DTC that expires in 2021 remains valid for claiming on the 2021 taxes.
It will need to be renewed before it can be applied to 2022 taxes.
