Disability tax credit (DTC) & Canada caregiver amount (CCC)

Disability tax credit:

  • Taxpayer is applying for DTC (for child - no income - under 18 - with autism).

Taxpayer has informed - in process of applying.

Canada Caregiver credit

  • Taxpayer intends to claim CCC for same child mentioned above.

Read this on CRA website:
https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/individuals/topics/about-your-tax-return/tax-return/completing-a-tax-return/deductions-credits-expenses/canada-caregiver-amount.html

Do you support a spouse or common-law partner, or a dependant with a physical or mental impairment? The Canada caregiver credit (CCC) is a non-refundable tax credit that may be available to you.

You may also be able to claim the CCC if one or more of the following individuals depend on you for support because of a physical or mental impairment:

your (or your spouse’s or common-law partner’s) child or grandchild

For an eligible dependant under 18 years of age at the end of the year (who is a person you are eligible to make a claim for on line 30400), you may be entitled to claim an amount of $2,499 in the calculation of line 30400 or on line 30500 for your child.

Once taxpayer has confirmed:
1. Approved for DTC with respect to their child
2. Child has an impairment requiring more assistance than children of the same age

I will claim - DTC and CCC please see screenshot below from dependent worksheet:

Is this how others would approach this?
