CRA Corresponding VIA Email

Hey there,
I spoke with a CRA agent today that is dealing with a Certificate of Compliance for one of my clients and she requested that the taxpayer(s) sign a **Waiver to authorize communication by unencrypted email **. Has anyone else had this request be made? I can’t find any information about it online and the Word document sent to me doesn’t have a CRA logo on it anywhere. Is this legit? If so, where can I find some evidence of this being a new CRA process?

Thats waiver is being used. I has gone through this process, while obtaining certificate compliance.
