TC allows us to checkmark which client is expected to receive the rebate. Would it be possible to add a flag or warning of some kind so we don’t accidentally file the wrong return first?
Most of the time I catch it, but every so often when I’m talking to the clients and transmitting the returns, I file the wrong one first and there is no going back.
We default it to one of the spouses in a coupled return. Even if you transmit the return for the spouse whose name is checked first, that doesn’t mean CRA will assess it first, though that would happen the majority of the time.
The trouble with adding this type of message is that it will not go away without you signing it off.
