Liberals to cut GST on beer, children’s toys and Christmas trees

Rank ideocy!

Can you imagine the implication cost of this, rejigging sales systems in places such as restaurants and bars, changing all the skews in big stores?

And the cost of cutting all the $250 cheques…

And this, while they cannot get the capital gains bill through the House,
it is a minority government without the :bati: or mandate to do this (Trudeau Government Has Likely Blown Fiscal Anchor, Watchdog Says – BNN Bloomberg)

:scared: :confused1:

But the great unwashed will see this as a reason to re elect this corrupt bunch once again… :scared:

and how nice that they are starting the 2 months with no GST on Dec 14th - after most families have their Christmas trees, kids toys etc. And I am sorry how is saving the GST on beer and wine going to help families. Utter nonsense. There are many other items they could have chosen to truly help.

“how is saving the GST on beer and wine going to help families.” You’re on the way to identifying the lobbies being responded to.

Could this be fake news?

Seems like an election is coming. If Trudeau stays on as liberal leader, I pity us. We’ll have our very own Trump. Imagine - 2 idiots on the same continent. Nobody has a plan. Neither party. Like Trump, they have “a concept of a plan”.

Talk about buying votes, here in NS, a campaign worker gave out Tim’s cards for a small coffee, worth $2.07 each, $51.75 in total. The opposition got on their high horse and want the PC incumbent to be disqualified. As the time limit to nominate someone has passed, with the PC candidate out of the way, the Liberals will automatically win. But, use your head. Does anyone really think that 25 gift cards valid for a small coffee is going to sway any voters? My Mom used to tell me that, in the 30’s and 40’s, the “drivers” for the election would have either candy, liquor, or a $5 bill to be given out for a promise to vote for a particular candidate. Account for inflation, and that $5 is suddenly worth switching your vote, but not a small coffee.

I emphasize this.

Not everyone shares your political opinions. I for one am more than satisfied Trump has a 2nd term. Hate me or love me, I think for myself.

I’m just relieved that once the results of the US election were tallied Haitian immigrants stopped eating the dogs and cats in Springfield Ohio.
