It would be helpful to add some additional items to the carry-forward items on the T1 Summary and T1 Short forms.
The HBP and LLP repayment requirements for NEXT year should be shown right after the RRSP deduction limit and unused contributions. This will serve two purposes.
Its the minimim RRSP contribution the individuals should make, and its the additional contribution required to truly maximize the deduction claimed the following year.
Adding the unused FHSA participation room would also be useful. Finally, even if the data can’t be downloaded from CRA, add a field where we can record the TFSA contribution limit.
All of these contribution limits could be neatly grouped together on the T1Summary and T1Short forms under a “Tax Planning” section (separate from the carry-forwards and income-tested benefits.
