BUG REPORT: T1 FHSA Schedule 15 Line 4: Variable "B" discrepancy between AFR & NOA

The First Home Savings Account (FHSA) Schedule 15 Line 4 requests the Variable “B” amount of your annual FHSA limit for 2023 (from your latest NOA/NOR, or Form T1028 for 2024).

My client’s 2023 NOA reports Variable B = $0.00
AFR reports Variable B = $8,000 and the yellow highlight suggests to use the AFR value.

My client contributed $2,000 in 2023, and $1,300 in 2024.

A Google search on the topic reveals that many folks on Reddit have also expressed this same discrepancy. One user posted:

" Wealthsimple has this message: “There is currently an issue affecting all tax software platforms where the Auto-fill data is being populated to the incorrect fields in this section. We are actively working to have this resolved by the responsible parties.”

Someone else posted that they filed their return with the AFR value of $8,000 and CRA caught it during processing and reversed it back to the $0.00 value of the 2023 NOA.

Anyone else experience this discrepancy?
Anyone from TaxCycle like to comment on it?

I’m trying to verify which is the correct value to report, the NOA value of $0.00 or the AFR value of $8,000. I’m inclined to use the NOA value.

Thanks.

CRA has advised that they are aware of this issue with the Variable B amount and will have it fixed soon.
In the meantime, they say to refer to the 2023 Notice of assessment to verify all FHSA amounts provided through AFR.

Thank you for your very quick reply and verifying that this is a CRA issue which should be repaired soon. Much appreciated, Allan.
