Alberta released it’s list of essential businesses and Accounting\Bookkeeping\Tax Prep and Accountants made the list. So, yeah, we are open. Practicing physical distancing in the office, not meeting clients - do it all remote. And this week we are going to rotate who is in the office.
Yes, we are discussing moving to rotating who is in the office as well. I think I will find as the work trickles off that fewer hours will be needed to get it all done anyway.
Once our IT guy finishes getting the company he works for full time set up for work from home we will pursue that option too at the staff’s discretion.
This is not a time to insist on staying open and operating as normal. But if you are taking appropriate measures (no more than 15/office, 2m distancing, not sharing equipment more than necessary and washing our hands) then, as we are essential services, it is incumbent upon us to provide those services.
