I’m preparing the returns for a couple. He is in a nursing home , but unfortunately died last week. Tax Cycle does not want me to move the CAI to the surviving spouse. I have used Optimizations to do so but TaxCycle still seems unhappy. Am I missing something? TIA

There seems to be a little glitch I have discovered.

Try the override on the other spouses optimization page.

Did you put in the date of death, even though he died in 2021 tax cycle recognizes date of death and will give to her as he’s not eligible for it.
