# Home buyers' amount

Taxpayer purchased their first qualifying home in 2020.  
They co-own the house with another individual who owned a home previously and is not their spouse.

_The taxpayer did not own or co-own a home in which she lived in the year of the purchase or in any of the four preceding calendar years._

**Is this taxpayer entitled to claim the $5,000.00 tax credit (the other individual will claim nothing)?**
