# Has anyone successfully filed T5 or contacted electronic processing centre?

I used my RZ number and WAC, XML file uploaded okay, but the CRA rejected the file. I tried to call CRA but got disconnected every single time… When I log into CRA represent a client, there are 2 results – 1. I used my RZ number and WAC in TaxCycle, the error message says “transmitter number doesn’t match”. 2. I used client RZ number and WAC in TaxCycle, the error message says “Rep ID doesn’t match”. So annoying especially CRA doesn’t even pick up the call.

I am pretty sure I had to use my RP0001 (not RZ).

As noted above, try your RP number not RZ. I use my RP number for all T-slip filing and it works.

Thanks everyone, mystery solved - my client’s RZ account number is for T5018 only not T5. I called CRA to get a RZ0002 and it got accepted!

Confirmed with Electronic Media…
In “Options / Slips Accounts”
For T4 and related slips filing we need to input RP in our Account Number.
For all other types of slips we need to put in our RZ in the Account Number.
**HATE TO ASK THIS OF TAXCYCLE, BUT…:**
**Can you automate this? Seems like a dumb thing from CRA and one that’s pretty obvious…is it a T4? Use RP…is it something else? Use RZ.**
I’m willing to bet that switching back and forth manually will prove to be an immense pain. At least it will be for me as I do both as I complete clients…
**Oh…wait…I can change this on the Engagement section…so which one is actually used?**

Tried again to file a simple T4 this AM…RZ in both Options and Engagement.
XML login went fine, received Captcha, got T619 Verification (had never seen this before!) and file went through successfully.
Now I can do real work?

I feel your pain.
Most of my trades and construction clients two RZ #'s.
Too maintain my sanity I used a convention of calling all RZ dividend accounts RZ0001 and all T5018 accounts as RZ0002. I opended both accounts at incorporation or start of engagement.
With small proprietors with two payrolls, one nanny and one business, I called business payroll as RP0001 and personal nanny/ care aide, etc as RP0002 etc. Each job classification I set up separately. This was especially useful for live-in temporary foreign workers as the payroll rules were unique. Usually there were two at the most.
For small proprietors with two or more lines of business I set up multiple GST #'s. One for each business entity based on line of business and type of income.
RT0001 for self-employed,
RT0002 etc for sub-contractor, commissioned agent, etc.
