Is there an option in the software that allows me to carry forward notes I make for myself on a client’s file? For example, details like marital status, future changes they’ve mentioned, or other information I’d like to reference each year. I currently use the NOTES form, but I don’t believe the information I enter there is carried forward to the next year. ---

You can do that using the ‘memo’ fields, which can be set to carryforward ---

Ok. Do you know off hand where the settings are to carryforward memos? I wish I could carry forward the notes, as I also sometimes drop screenshots or images into them. That’s too bad. ---

There is a little check box in the memo itself it you wish to have it carry forward. There is also a notes tab which carrys forward every year. F4 - notes ---

I believe the notes will only carry forward if you have it set to do that in the options package. I put all my general notes in memo on the Salutation field on the Info page of the main taxpayer… I find if I am consistent, it is easier. I also make notes on individual T2125, T776 etc on the business name field… again consistency really helps… love this carryforward feature. ---
